NEC Elections

Today I have written a letter to branches in the West Midlands seeking nomination for the West Midlands Male Seat in the UNISON NEC Elections. I have had a brilliant experience on the NEC in the young members seat but alas age catches up with us all. I really want to use what I've learned on the NEC so far on behalf of members in the West Midlands.
(clearly no union resources were used for any on this)

Hmmm, not the world's most constructive comment...

Having said that I do sincerely hope our members make the right decision and vote for the left candidate Clive Shakespeare. Sorry to want to halt your climb up the career ladder James but our members really can't afford another 4 years with the likes of you on the NEC!

Oh dear I see your plagued by some bogus anonymous trot freak! I hope you win by a big margin James, as young members N.E.C. rep you do great work for Unison young members. If you get elected by our members again you will as always have their interests at heart. Your not controlled by a narrow tiny extremeist minority who shout empty slogans and who are manipulated by darleks in the SWP for their own fantasy land political gain and comic book workers revolution! and by the way Anonymous its 2 Years at a time on the N.E.C. YOU NUMPTY! NOT FOUR!

Oh dear, touched a raw nerve eh Anonymous trot? I am afraid you and your beano comic revolutionary mates need to get real, you represent a tiny extremeist minority of weiro humourless drones and DALEKS (thanks for reminding me of the correct spelling its my new sensitive pc!) Its such a shame that Unison has to waste resources on boring no hopers listening to your endless sad rhetoric and bizarre motions that most people wouldnt vote for in a million years, your SWP utopia is about as welcome as a fart in spacesuit! Vote for James a real worker and somebody who stands up for all members not just five or six trotskyist freaks sat in the corner of the pub sharing half a warm lager droning on about workers revolutionary politics! So Sad! If your that lonely join the ramblers and bore them to death!

Thanks Marko for comming to my defence.

I must say there's not many people, and I'd think I'd include the left NEC members in this, that think I'm useless.

They may not like what I do sometimes but they know I get it done.

And I don't think leading UNISON's work with a broad coalition of partners on the National Minimum Wage useless.

I don't think getting UNISON to take action to recruit, organise and support apprentices - including the bargaining guide and targetted recruitment forms - useless.

I think I have my uses and I know that young workers (who after all I was elected to represent) have benefitted from my time on the NEC.
